This 20 hour Yin & Restorative Yoga training is for anyone and everyone. Whether your intention is to teach or deepen your personal practice, you’ll be encouraged to explore what you intuitively need. Yin Yoga is the continued evolution of ancient practice where poses are held for time. The postures are mostly seated or reclined and Yin is considered a cool practice, working deep into the joints, tendons and ligaments in the body. Explore how Yin yoga affects the human body, encouraging the healthy functioning of its systems. Restorative Yoga is a practice of “letting go” and is a deeply relaxing practice for the mind and body. Learn restorative postures and how this style of yoga can be a healing practice for individuals who have experienced trauma. Through lecture, experiential practice and team teaching, students will gain the confidence and knowledge to lead Restorative and Yin yoga classes.

You will learn:

  • Yin concept, history and benefits
  • Yin and Restorative postures and understanding of modifications Science of human variation
  • Injuries common to yoga
  • Broader knowledge of the myofascial system
  • Psychology of “interoception”/introspection
  • Meridians, organs and subtle body
  • Stress response and deep relaxation practices Applications for this practice and the Eastern and Western psychology
